Patrick Stokkink has received a Veni grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) for research on closer cooperation between passenger and freight transport.
The COMPACT project will model how transport providers make decisions and interact, and will develop strategies for sharing underused transport capacity while allowing organizations to retain control over their own operations.
The research addresses the gap between promising theoretical models and practical implementation, with the aim of supporting more sustainable, flexible, and efficient transport systems.
